Enhanced Services

Enhanced Services is a historically successful program designed for people who have challenging behaviors. We identify the reasons these behaviors occur, then we reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence. We do this by using specific, positive approaches designed to teach the skills necessary to replace the behavior:

• Positive programming.
• Environmental control.
• Community integration.

Opportunity Services provides this program's participants with the following:

• Positive Programming - Behavioral support plans based on the methodologies and teachings of the Institute of Applied Behavioral Analysis (IABA). The program controls specific environmental stimuli, using reinforcement techniques to gain rapid control of behavior, eliminate the targeted behavior and the reason for it through development of functional skills. This serves to communicate the same messages as the challenging behavior.
• Community Access – Based upon research indicating the decreased likelihood of challenging behavior occurrence in community settings, the chances of behavioral challenges are reduced when clients are engaged in meaningful, enjoyable activities.
