Extended Employment
There are two Extended Employment programs:
"Work Team":
As part of a "work team," you're part of an organized group, working together with others to get a job done.
- Good fit for those who want or need on-site job training and support
- Payment is based on your contribution to the team and to the employer
- Each county offers a variety of settings in which their teams work
In this program, Opportunity Services provides the following:
- Locating a job you would like to do
- Training with a job coach who will teach you how to do the job
- Continued support from the job coach to help you be successful
Independent Employment— "A Job of Your Own":
If you want to work independently and have a job of your own, this is the right service for you.
Opportunity Services will help you:
- Find the job of your choice
- Help you through the application and interview process
- Train with a job coach once a business hires you
- Provide support only when you need it
