Extended Employment


There are two Extended Employment programs:


"Work Team":

As part of a "work team," you're part of an organized group, working together with others to get a job done.

  • Good fit for those who want or need on-site job training and support
  • Payment is based on your contribution to the team and to the employer
  • Each county offers a variety of settings in which their teams work

In this program, Opportunity Services provides the following:

  • Locating a job you would like to do
  • Training with a job coach who will teach you how to do the job
  • Continued support from the job coach to help you be successful

Independent Employment— "A Job of Your Own":

If you want to work independently and have a job of your own, this is the right service for you.

Opportunity Services will help you:

  • Find the job of your choice
  • Help you through the application and interview process
  • Train with a job coach once a business hires you
  • Provide support only when you need it
