If you want to work independently and have a job of your own, this is the right service for you. Opportunity Services will:
- Help you find the job of your choice
- Help you through the application and interview process
- After a business hires you, provide a job coach who will help train you and provide support only when you need it
Scattered Site Work Teams
For those people interested in Independent Employment, but not completely comfortable working without access to a job coach at all times:
- Obtain skills and confidence to transition to Independent Services once work skills and job comfort is achieved
In this program, Opportunity Services provides the following:
- A job coach who provides training to 10-12 individuals who are working at their own job
- Scattered site work teams with jobs located in close proximity to one another
- Personal coaching, training and assistance from job coach on a rotating basis
Community Work
This program serves as the most supportive work environment for you:
- Especially effective for those striving to develop skills and achieve a job of their own in the future
- Most work in community businesses, either directly or through contract, and are supervised by job coaches throughout their work day
- Jobs typically range from 2 – 4 hours per day, and are often in the retail, food service, and manufacturing industries
In this program, Opportunity Services provides the following:
- A supportive environment to help you realize goals of independent employment
- Work teams consisting of clients with different skills, working together to accomplish the job
- Targeted jobs that meet the needs and desires of an individual
